You will find that the flavours are much more intense like sun-dried produce from this type of drying process. It’s also claimed that by heating the inside of the food simultaneously, drying times are reduced by about 20% making a saving on costs, while nutrient preservation is believed to be significantly improved.
This mode brings convenience right to your home as the infrared dryer will automatically switch off when the humidity inside drops to 3%. This mode gives you the reassurance that your food will be in good hands when you're away. But if your wanting to know when your dehydrated food is ready, there's also a countdown hour timer for timed shut-off.
This mode is ideal for making raw food recipes such as kale chips, fruit chips and leathers. This mode allows the user to control the temperature and keep it even throughout the drying process, thus making it ideal for delicate ingredients.
The IR D5 offers a large amount of space with 5 stainless steel drying trays whilst also being relatively kitchen friendly. It’s really easy to clean too, and the air filter can be removed and washed to keep your dehydrator in top condition.
